The drive
How long does the journey take when traveling by private car from Miami to Tampa?
About 4 hours without traffic for the roughly 285 miles between Downtown Miami and downtown Tampa. Plan on 4 to 5 hours door to door: rush hour at either end, a comfort stop and weekend traffic up the Gulf Coast all add time.

Downtown, Westshore, Ybor City or Tampa International Airport, or across the bay to St. Petersburg and Clearwater.
Approximate road distance from Downtown Miami; the drive time is without traffic or stops.
Which way does the chauffeur drive?
Usually north out of Miami to I-75, west across the Everglades on Alligator Alley, then north up the Gulf Coast past Naples, Fort Myers and Sarasota into Tampa. Your chauffeur follows live traffic on the day and takes another way if I-75 is blocked.
What can slow the trip down?
Rush hour at either end: leaving Miami on a weekday morning or late afternoon, and arriving in Tampa in its evening rush. Weekend and holiday traffic on I-75 along the Gulf Coast. And crashes on Alligator Alley, which has few exits to get around them. For a meeting, a cruise departure or a flight out of Tampa, we suggest allowing 5 hours.
Can I stop along the way?
Yes. Ask your chauffeur for a comfort break whenever you need one; short breaks are free. A stop at a particular address, such as lunch with friends in Naples or collecting another passenger, is an added stop billed separately from the fixed fare: add it under special requests when you book, or call us.
Fixed fares
How much does a private car to Tampa cost?
Every trip has one fixed price for the whole vehicle, set by distance and vehicle, not per person. These are typical one-way fares straight from our booking engine; the ride back from Tampa is priced the same way.

Typical one-way fares for the usual route distance, checked October 2026. Your exact fixed price depends on the addresses and is shown in the booking form before you pay. Sedan and SUV fares are higher on a few special-event dates, such as Art Basel week in December. Distances marked * are our estimate for the usual addresses.
Traveling with more than 14? A 54-passenger motor coach is reserved by phone, at least 24 hours ahead: call +1 305-699-6919.
Get the exact fixed price for your addressesIs the fare really fixed for a 285-mile trip?
Yes. The price you see when you book is what you pay for the ride, however slow I-75 is on the day. Tolls are included and there is no fuel surcharge; the only additions are extras such as a stop at another address or waiting beyond the free period. The fare is the same at night and on weekends.
Because the fare is per vehicle, groups pay far less per head: from Downtown Miami, two people in a Luxury Sedan pay about $408 each, six in a Luxury SUV about $178 each, and fourteen in a Luxury Sprinter about $123 each.
What is included in the fare?
Included
- Your chauffeur and the vehicle for the whole trip, for your party alone
- Tolls on Alligator Alley and the rest of the route
- Help with every bag at both ends
- Flight tracking and free waiting from actual landing at MIA or FLL
- Wi-Fi in every vehicle; bottled water and phone chargers in every Luxury Sedan, First Class, Luxury SUV and Sprinter transfer, and free child seats on request
- A live link to follow your chauffeur on the way to you
Billed separately
- Added stops at other addresses
- Waiting beyond the free period, at $1 a minute

Want the Rolls-Royce Ghost or the Jet Sprinter’s lounge seating for the drive? Limousines and the Rolls-RoyceOn board
What comfort features are inside the luxury vehicles?
Four hours is long enough for the details to matter. Every vehicle has Wi-Fi, and every Luxury Sedan, First Class, Luxury SUV and Sprinter transfer has chargers, water, tissues and sanitizer, with child seats free on request; the Luxury and Executive Sprinters add a TV and surround sound. None of it costs extra.
-
Wi-Fi
In every vehicle, for email and calls on the way.
-
Phone chargers
Keep your phone topped up for the whole trip.
-
Premium bottled water
Waiting in the cabin when you get in.
-
Tissues & hand sanitizer

-
Free child seats
Infant, child and booster seats on request.
-
TV & surround sound
In both Sprinters, for groups and families.
Are the vehicles equipped for productive work sessions?
Yes. Wi-Fi comes in every vehicle and phone chargers in every Luxury Sedan, First Class, Luxury SUV and Sprinter transfer. The back of a Luxury Sedan or a First Class Mercedes-Benz S-Class is quiet enough for calls. Alligator Alley is long and straight with few stops, which makes for long, uninterrupted stretches of work. A team that wants to work together can take the Executive Sprinter, a business-class cabin for 12.
Does the transport service between Miami and Tampa include amenities like Wi-Fi and luggage assistance?
Both, at no extra cost. Every vehicle has Wi-Fi, and your chauffeur loads every bag at pickup and unloads it at your drop-off in Tampa. Tell us how many suitcases you have when you book so we send the right vehicle: a Luxury Sedan takes 3, a Luxury SUV 6 and a Luxury Sprinter 14. Anything else you would like on board, just ask in advance.
Car service vs the alternatives
Is this service better than flying to Tampa?
For one person with a carry-on, a flight can cost less, and we would rather say so. For a family, a group or anyone who wants door to door on their own schedule, the car usually wins. Here is how your Miami to Tampa transportation options compare, from Downtown Miami to downtown Tampa.
| Compared on | Miami Limo Car | Flying MIA to TPA | Amtrak | Driving yourself |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Door to door | About 4 hours; 4 to 5 with traffic and a stop | About 1¼ hours in the air, plus the ride to MIA, about 2 hours at the airport before departure and the ride from TPA | About 5½ hours station to station, plus the rides to and from the stations | About 4 hours at the wheel, plus stops |
| Price | Fixed per vehicle: about $816 by sedan or $1,067 by SUV for up to 6, tolls included | Per person, set by the airline, plus bag fees | Per person | Fuel and tolls, or a one-way rental plus fuel and tolls |
| When it leaves | Whenever you choose, day or night | On the airline’s schedule; American Airlines flies the route nonstop | Once a day | Whenever you choose |
| Luggage | Your chauffeur loads every bag: 3 to 14 suitcases, depending on the vehicle | Checked-bag fees and weight limits | Two checked bags free, but you take them to and from the stations | You load and unload it |
| On the way | Work on the Wi-Fi, take calls or sleep | A short flight, with little time to work between security, boarding and baggage claim | Room to work, at train speed | Eyes on the road for 285 miles |
Flight time and airline from published MIA–TPA schedules, October 2026; TSA suggests arriving 2 hours before a domestic flight. Amtrak’s once-daily Floridian stops at Tampa Union Station. Brightline runs between Miami and Orlando only; its Tampa extension has no opening date.
What are the benefits of choosing a private limousine over other modes of transportation for the Miami to Tampa route?
Time you can use, and a trip you control. There is no drive to the airport, no security line and no baggage carousel in Tampa: your chauffeur collects you at your door, and the four hours on the road are yours to work, call or sleep. You leave when you want, stop when you need to and arrive at the exact address, with your luggage handled at both ends.
And the sums favor groups. Two people in a Luxury Sedan pay about $408 each; four in a Luxury SUV about $267 each, with room for six suitcases; and the price stays fixed whatever the traffic.

Miami to Tampa Car Service FAQ
Booking & prices
How do I reserve transport from Miami to Tampa?
Online, in the booking form on this page: enter your pickup in Miami (or MIA, FLL or PortMiami), your Tampa Bay address, the date and the time, then pick a vehicle and pay. No account is needed, and your confirmation arrives by email. You can also call or WhatsApp +1 305-699-6919 at any hour, or email contact@miamilimocar.com.
What is the cost for private travel to Tampa?
From Downtown Miami to downtown Tampa, one way: about $816 by Luxury Sedan (up to 2 passengers), $1,067 by Luxury SUV (6), $1,695 by First Class Mercedes-Benz S-Class (2), $1,722 by Luxury Sprinter (14) and $2,295 by Executive Sprinter (12), tolls included (prices checked October 2026). That is the price for the whole vehicle, not per person. Sedan and SUV fares are higher on a few special-event dates, such as Art Basel week in December. The booking form shows the exact fixed price for your addresses before you pay.
How do I request a quote for transportation?
Enter your trip in the booking form on this page: the fixed price for every available vehicle appears as soon as you add your name, email and phone, with no obligation to book. For a motor coach, several vehicles or a car that waits for you in Tampa, call +1 305-699-6919 or email contact@miamilimocar.com and we will quote the whole trip.
How far in advance should I book?
As soon as your plans are set, and earlier still for weekends, holidays, game days and groups that need a Sprinter or a coach: a Tampa trip keeps a vehicle and chauffeur busy for most of the day. Trips more than 14 days away can be reserved with no payment today; your price is locked in and payment is finalized closer to the date. At short notice, the Luxury Sedan, Luxury SUV and Luxury Sprinter can be booked even for right now, First Class and the Executive Sprinter need 2 hours, and a motor coach 24 hours.
Can I book a same-day trip to Tampa?
Yes. The Luxury Sedan, Luxury SUV and Luxury Sprinter can be booked online even for right now. Rides booked less than 12 hours ahead are checked by our dispatch team first, usually within a few minutes, and if we can’t take the ride, the hold on your card is released. If you need to leave within the hour, call +1 305-699-6919 instead: it is the fastest way to get a car moving.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit cards, including Visa, Mastercard and American Express, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay, through Stripe’s secure checkout, in US dollars. The full fare is charged when you book; for rides within 12 hours your card is only authorized until dispatch accepts the ride, and trips more than 14 days out can be reserved with no payment today.
Scheduling & the trip
Can I schedule a luxury car service from Miami to Tampa at any time of day?
Yes. We drive 24 hours a day, every day, so you can leave before dawn to make a morning meeting in Tampa or set off after dinner. The fare is the same at any hour and on any day of the week; only a few special-event dates cost more.
How flexible is scheduling for Miami to Tampa?
You choose the exact pickup time, not a departure slot. To change it later, call or WhatsApp +1 305-699-6919, or email contact@miamilimocar.com, with your booking reference. Cancellation is free up to 2 hours before pickup for a Luxury Sedan or Luxury SUV, 24 hours for First Class and 72 hours for the Sprinters; inside that window 50% of the fare is charged, and no-shows are not refunded.
How long does the drive to Tampa take?
About 4 hours without traffic from Miami to downtown Tampa, a little less from Fort Lauderdale and a little more to Clearwater Beach. Allow 4 to 5 hours door to door, and 5 hours if you have a meeting, a cruise or a flight to make in Tampa.
Can you pick me up at MIA or FLL after my flight?
Yes. Add your flight number when you book and dispatch follows your flight, so your chauffeur works to the time you actually land. Free waiting starts at landing: 30 minutes for domestic flights and 60 for international ones. Choose Meet at Baggage Claim to have your chauffeur waiting with a name sign (if you clear US customs at MIA or FLL, they meet you as you come out of customs instead), or Curbside Pickup to meet at the arrivals curb.
Miami airport car serviceCan you take us from Tampa back to Miami?
Yes. Enter your Tampa Bay address or a Port Tampa Bay cruise terminal as the pickup and your Miami address as the drop-off: the ride is priced the same way as the trip to Tampa. Flying into Tampa International? Call or WhatsApp +1 305-699-6919 to book that pickup, so dispatch can set up where to meet you and follow your flight. To book both directions in one call, phone or WhatsApp the same number.
Is the commute from Miami to Tampa stress free?
As close as a 285-mile trip gets. Your chauffeur handles the traffic, Alligator Alley and the roads into Tampa, your bags are loaded for you, and the fare is fixed before you leave, so a slow afternoon on I-75 changes nothing but the time you spend reading, working or sleeping.
Vehicles & comfort
Are private luxury vehicles available for Miami to Tampa?
Yes, every one of our transfer vehicles: the Luxury Sedan and the First Class Mercedes-Benz S-Class for up to 2 passengers, the Luxury SUV for up to 6, the Executive Sprinter for 12 and the Luxury Sprinter for 14. A 54-passenger motor coach is reserved by phone.
See the full fleetWhat luxury models are offered for this route?
A Cadillac sedan or similar for the Luxury Sedan, a Mercedes-Benz S-Class for First Class, a Cadillac Escalade or Chevrolet Suburban for the Luxury SUV, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinters for the Executive and Luxury Sprinter. The Rolls-Royce Ghost, the Jet Sprinter and our stretch limousine are booked by the hour.
Do you provide child seats for the trip?
Yes, free of charge on request: infant, child and booster seats in the Luxury Sedan, First Class, Luxury SUV and both Sprinters. Add the seats you need, with your children’s ages, under special requests when you book.

Yes, small pets are welcome. Tell us under special requests when you book so we can prepare the vehicle; an extra cleaning fee may apply.
About us
Does your company handle long distance ground travel?
Yes. Besides Tampa, we drive from Miami to Orlando, Naples, Sarasota, Key West and Palm Beach, and to other cities in Florida and beyond on request. Every long-distance trip is priced the same way, by distance and vehicle, with one chauffeur and one vehicle from start to finish.
Is the Miami to Tampa route highly requested?
Most of our rides stay within South Florida, but Tampa Bay is one of the long-distance trips we are asked for, in both directions: from Miami hotels and the Miami and Fort Lauderdale airports to Tampa, St. Petersburg and Clearwater, and from Tampa back to Fort Lauderdale. Because a Tampa trip keeps a vehicle and chauffeur busy for most of the day, book as early as you can for weekends, holidays and game days.
Are your chauffeurs licensed and insured?
Yes. Our chauffeurs hold a Miami-Dade County chauffeur license, are background-checked and trained in defensive driving, and Miami Limo Car is a licensed and insured for-hire operator.
How do I reach you during the trip?
Call or WhatsApp +1 305-699-6919; the line is answered 24/7. Once your chauffeur is assigned we text you their name and mobile number, and you get a live link to follow them on the way to your pickup.
